Orphan Sunday

Click the link below (might take awhile for the video to load) and watch from 27 minutes on to hear me and Kirk speaking on Orphan Sunday. (The whole sermon is fantastic, though, so watch from the beginning if you have time!)

Nothing pumps my blood like speaking about orphans and adoption!!!

Amazing! I loved hearing both of you speak. Just curious (I know you are extremely busy) but when you get time I'd love to read the stories about the three newest members of your family and their adoption story just like the first time. :-)

I was blessed to have 41 minutes of quiet to watch this sermon and your testimony on stage. So beautiful! Thank you for being the change! Any fears of adopting again dissipates when I hear your reminders of what God can do in & through us if we only let Him. Working on exchanging the comfortable for the extraordinary in my heart to help redeem another life here in Utah (hopefully in the near future). Blessings to your family & your ministry. You are pouring out so many blessings and planting seeds in other's hearts with your life & your example to live for Christ and to die to self. Thank you for that!

Oh my goodness I am so glad I found your blog a couple of days ago. You have NO IDEA! I am addicted to checking on it daily (sometimes every few hours!) just to see what other awesome stuff you may have posted. (Haven't been able to pull up this link, don't know if it's trouble on my end, but looking forward to seeing it!) (P.S. We have three bio kids--5, 3, and 11 mths--all girls, and started down the adoption road about 7 years ago. We are 31 and 32, and contacted CWA a couple of days ago about Ethiopia. Who knows what God has going on! And our hearts have definitely been open to older kids now, especially sibling sets!:) I have led my parents to your site and an elder in our church so they can begin to catch the vision and pray for us. So, thank you for being the answer to so many questions I still had lingering i.e. birth order, what about older kids, how will we raise the money, etc. Thank you for being passionate and in your face about it all. It's such a good thing!!! I now spend my nights praying over the waiting to be adopted list, and we are aligning items now as we pray and fast for the next step. My hubby and I have committed to doing this through the end of the year, and we've begun to talk about it again with our children. In the meantime, we've set up an OPERATION CHRISTMAS wall in our home where we are honoring widows and orphans through our offerings this year. We want to keep adding to the wall and sending checks, so if you have great sites to give to (your shirts and bracelets are on our list) then let me know! And be encouraged--your passion is contagious! Blessings to your family!

We are on the journey of adoption, and I am encouraged again, thank you for your passion, for tapping into the power to change. I read in a magazine that parents who are adopting go through these stages as they wait for the adoption to be complete. One of the stages was wanting to do something to reach out to help orphans in a tangible other than the adoption. I was a bit discouraged by reading that, wondering if my emotions and feelings about doing something more was just part of this "stage". I am refueled so to speak and realizing that God has called me to be a voice, to be part of change (even if I am unsure of exactly what right now), and to live my life with passion, conviction, and definite purpose. Blessings to you all,
Sheila
